What I read, watched and listened to in April

The Ex Talk by Rachel Lynn Solomon

The Ex Talk is such a fun, steamy and cute romance that has had me in a book hangover for weeks. A classic enemies to lovers, The Ex Talk is about two podcast co-hosts who end up falling for each other. I’m really picky when it comes to young adult/new adult romcom novels , but this is a smart romance and I am here for it. I may have ordered all Rachel Lynn Solomon’s YA books and Weather Girl/Business or Pleasure. Now we need a book to screen adaptation and I vote Charles Melton as Dominic Yun!

How to Date Billy Walsh (Amazon Prime)

I randomly stumbled across the trailer for How to Date Billy Walsh on Amazon Prime one weekend and I was immediately hooked. This movie is too cute for words, it’s a Young Adult British romance between childhood friends, Amelia and Archie. Archie has always kept his love for Amelia a secret but just as he is ready to declare his feelings to Amelia, she falls for Billy Walsh, a new American transfer student.

Someone Knows Something Podcast (Season 2)

Six or seven years ago I started listening to CBC Radio’s podcast Someone Knows Something. I finished season one which is a sad case about a toddler going missing on a fishing/camping trip in the late 70s, they still have not found him. The second season focuses on a missing twentysomething from the Toronto Suburb, Hamilton. I must have been listening to it in real time because I never finished it and wanted to know how the case ended. Sheryl Sheppard is still missing but I started re-listening to it just to refresh myself on the case and actually finish the season. It’s a really sad story and I hope her mom is able to find justice for her daughter soon!
