Desert Marriott (Palm Desert, CA): Every month for the last year, the local Silent Book Club chapter meets at the Desert Marriott for reading happy hour and I've seen and tasted everything from the cotton candy extravaganza (it's a drink), cake pops and donut trees. Check out the bar/sushi bar in the main lobby and enjoy the spectacular view.

Heirloom Kitchen (Indio, CA): Discovered right before the Coachella Valley Music Festival last year, this french bistro is one of my favorite spots in the desert. From their grilled cheese and tomato soup, the sweet potato fries and even their burger are amazing! A go to for your next desert escape.

Farm (Palm Springs, CA): I have to admit I've known about this place for years and I'm just now trying it out! It's everything I imagined it would be. From the home decor to the food, the place is heavily French inspired and honestly my favorite restaurant in the valley. My chicken/mushroom crepe was so incredibly delicious.
