Driving to Newport, RI was totally an impromptu decision and honestly, I’m so glad we went. I literally took a picture of every room that was decorated for the holidays when we visited the Vanderbilt Summer Cottage this past November. Every bedroom (plus the lounging rooms. music room, etc) had it’s own tree, and every mantle covered in winter greenery. The estate on it’s own is beautiful but decorated for Christmas and the winter season made it so much more magical.

I’m not actually in New England this winter, although I totally wish that I was. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday season and a peaceful/restful end to another kind of crazy year!
