Take Me Away

Take Me Away

As someone who grew up and loved 80s teen movies, Mystic Pizza holds a special place in my heart. It’s a movie I watch every summer and maybe one of the reasons behind me wanting to move to the east coast. Although It hasn’t happened yet, my brother recently moved to Connecticut so last fall seemed like the perfect time to visit.

It was the coziest trip. David and I drove through Connecticut, New York and Rhode Island and honestly, it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. It was cold but not to cold, just enough to wear scarves and boots. We started each day walking around down town and exploring restaurants for breakfast and we ended each night usually near the water watching the sunset over the Atlantic. Mystic, was better than I imagined. It’s quintessential New England. A small downtown, all mom and pop owned clothing stories, ice cream parlors and bookstores. The public library, well lets just say I would move and work there in a heart beat. We spent the day walking around, popping in and out of shops, buying books and Christmas tree ornaments, we obviously ended our day trip at Mystic Pizza, the pepperoni pizza was delicious.

Mystic, you stole my heart. It was so hard leaving you but I know I’ll be back.
