Friday Escape

I'm not one who is super into astronomy, but visiting the Swiss Alps is definitely on my list of things to see. The Sphinx Observatory was built in 1931 and is located 11,716 feet high up in the Alps. Inside it's research station there are laboratories for meteorology, astronomy and medicine. Underneath the protective dome there is a massive telescope that researches can use to look out into the vastness of the universe. Visitors can take a high speed elevator to an observation deck and enjoy the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains.
